I just got word from the organizers that the Cruise In slated for today (1 April) had been canceled due to weather.
Scam Alert!
Just saw a post from Lance Lambert regarding a potential scam.
This 1968 Mercury Cougar is allegedly for sale in Seattle. I called to arrange an inspection of the car and the seller gave me a long monologue about a failed previous sale and blah blah blah. “I have to fly to Seattle to show you the car so you need to give me a deposit before I come so I know you are serious.”
No!
Kitsap Car Enthusiasts announce 5 th. Anniversary Show.
KCE will celebrate their 5 th. Anniversary on the 3 rd of May with a Car Show.
Kitsap Building Association announces their Car and Motorcycle show on 3 May.
The Kitsap Building Association will be having its 4 th annual Car and Motorcycle Show at the Home and Remodel Expo on the 3 rd of May. It will be at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and runs between 10 am and 3 pm.
The 37 Th. Annual Cruz will return to Port Orchard.
I just got off the phone with the President of the Saints Car Club and he has informed me that the Cruz will be returning to Port Orchard for 2025! There will be some adjustments to facilitate Pedestrian Safety but the 2025 Cruz is shaping up to be one of the best ones yet!
The Leroy Boondoggle
A bunch of the local Car Guys followed Leroy out of town for another one of his great tours. Leroy is well known for getting lost, so Mr. Ron furnished maps for all. It looks like everyone had a good time, I am sorry I missed this one.
Poop Sheet gets a much needed update!
Events are beginning go roll in and the Poop Sheet gets a much needed update. As the Swap Meets and out of town shows begi to drop off they will be replaced with more of the local events. There is an update in the Cruz Night section with the Cool Car Cruiz moving to Tuesday. Organizers, please send us your Flyers when they become available. Thanks!

I was looking at some old Photographs, courtesy of the good folks at the Kitsap History Museum, when I came across some of Racing at Memorial Field. Bainbridge Car Show announced for 2025
The good folks on that floating garage (AKA Bainbridge Island) have announced their schedule for 2025. Always an interesting show and a wonderful Hamburger, the dates will be 27 May, 24 June, 29 July and 26 August.
Silverdale Way gets a Storm Water Upgrade
And it goes without saying, a bunch of new Asphalt. The project is scheduled to begin on the 24 th of this month and run into the fall.

As the Local Car Culture emerges from the annual Winter Hibernation we begin to see Flyers and Dates emerging. Organizers, please keep those Flyers coming! A note to Organizers, please include the year on your Flyer, there is an awful lot of outdated information floating around the Internet. Additionally we have word that the Hot Rod Social and the Bainbridge Island Cruise are both back for 2025. Hot Rod Social on Wednesdays and Bainbridge Cruise on the last Tuesday of the month. Let’s get this Party started!
Citizens weigh in at Port Orchard City Council Meeting.
There were a number of folks testifying on behalf of the Saints and the Cruiz Car Show, in the Port Orchard City Council meeting on Tuesday evening. By all accounts they were respectful and well presented. If you could not make the meeting I will include the video below.
Clear Brook and Country Meadows announce Car Show
The Car Show at Clear Brook and Country Meadows will be held on 28 June this year. It will begin at 11 am and run until 2 pm. We will have more details when they become available.

Euro VS the World Car Show
The folks at Max RPM had a great Car Show today in spite of a lack of cooperation from the Weatherman. Cars, People and Vendors pretty much covered every square foot of the parking lot and parts of the building. Kudos to the Organizers!
Port Orchard Cruz relocates for 2025
After being on the Port Orchard Waterfront for 37 years, the Cruz Car Show, presented by the Saints Car Club, will be moving in 2025. Known as one of the largest Car Events in the County and for their Community Support, it will be moving to the Rodeo Drive In for 2025. We will have the flyer and more information when it becomes available.
Elks announce their Car Show for 2025
I have always enjoyed this Show, lots of great memories over the years. This year’s Show is scheduled for 19 July. We will have more information in the Events and Schedule section.
Euro vs World Car Show, date change.
Originally scheduled for 15 February, this event has moved to March 8 th.

Kitsap Mall Sells for $25 M
The Kitsap Mall has just been sold to the Rhino investment group. You may be wondering why this rates mention in the Auto News section, however it was the home of the Cool Car Cruise for a number of years. It remains to be seen who will be brought in to replace Maceys when they depart, however it is hoped the location can once again host a Cruise In. The previous owners treated the event more like a nuisance rather than a resource. The $950 fee for renting the empty parking space simply did not fit into the Cruise program.
OVAC visits Typewriter Shop!
The Olympic Vintage Auto Club visited Typewriter Fever as a stop on their monthly Old Cars and Coffee event. Located on Callow Avenue, Typewriter Fever is one of Bremerton’s hidden gems. It features a huge collection of Typewriters and a Museum.
Over 200 Cars turned out for the first Cruise in 2025!
Cool weather and threatening sky’s did nothing to deter the 200 plus cars from turning out for the first Cruise in 2025!
Grandpaw’s Wrench
This Wrench belonged to my Grandfather. He worked for Continental Can Company in Seattle back in the 20’s (that’s the 1920’s). I inherited his Machinist Tool Box years ago and this was one of the many tools inside. Every once in a while I get it out and use it. Should I drop that Wrench it will land on this Website somewhere. If you should find it and let me know where you found it, we will award you with a prize. Good Hunting!
New Traffic Camera on Viking Way, racking up over a hundred tickets a week!
A new Traffic Camera located on Viking Way between Finn Hill and Hwy. 305 is doing a Land Office business racking up nearly 900 Tickets in its first weeks of operation. Hanging 10 there will get you a ticket in the Mail. Happy Holidays from the folks in Poulsbo!
Bremerton Swap Meet 2025 Update
OVAC (Olympic Vintage Auto Club) has set a date for the 2025 Bremerton Auto Swap Meet and that date is 18 October. There are a few changes in the works and we will try to post them as soon as they become available.

Next Generation ?
If you are like me you may be wondering, where is that next generation of Car Guys and Gals coming from? Well the folks at SEMA have also been giving that some thought. They have launched a program called Take a Kid to a Car Show.

Hit the road and ditch the Ethanol
We have all heard the horror stories of the old rides attacked by the addition of Ethanol to Gasoline. It is fixing to get even worse this fall when they add another 5% to the mix! Often attacking the earlier forms of rubber in Fuel Pumps and causing lots of corrosion in vehicles that sit for long periods. Non Ethanol fuel is available if you know where to look for it.
